Press release -

Sigma Technology expands investment in Embedded Systems and Electrification

Our industry customers are getting more and more focused on digitalization and electrification. We see a significant increase in projects where we contribute with competence and insights and where the customer has opted for extensive cooperation. That is why Sigma Technology Group will increase the pace even more. We will continue to grow by gathering forces within this area and making our capacity and excellence known, with competence in electrification, cyber security, functional safety, and e-mobility.

Sigma Technology Group has more than 20 years of experience in developing intelligent hardware and software solutions and systems for various Swedish industries with an emphasis on automotive and manufacturing industries. As the demand for embedded systems increases, Sigma Technology chooses to strengthen its offer by gathering niche companies within embedded systems in Business Area Embedded Group.

Together, Sigma Technology Group has more than 350 experts working with embedded systems development in Västra Götaland region, with a center in Gothenburg, in southern Sweden with development hubs in Jönköping and Östergötland, as well as in Stockholm-Mälardalen. The company also attracts many sub-consultants who specialize in this area.

We want to offer our customers flexibility where we as a supplier can help with both experts, team deliveries, and in-house projects in our own lab. Our niche companies are one of the main reasons for our success. By making our capacity and excellence known, we can present our entire offer to our customers and let them see how we can help them by e.g. geographically distributed teams where specialists who otherwise may not have been available can be part of the projects. Business Area Embedded Group will offer competence and scalability, both locally and distributed,” says Mikael Karlsson, CEO for Business Area Embedded Group and President at Sigma Technology Embedded Solutions.

Part of the Business Area Embedded Group includes lab operations with a larger development lab in Jönköping and distributed lab activities all over Sweden, which includes expert areas for software, electronics, power electronics, mechatronics, and digitalization. In-house services include anything from mentoring during the customer’s pre-study or PoC, team deliveries, or a complete in-house project.

"This setup lets us become a comprehensive partner for our customers, and we can be part of any phase of product development, from idea, development, and quality control to aftermarket. To have a distributed lab solution means that we can handle customer hardware in a safe and flexible way,” says Mikael Karlsson.

Sigma Technology Group is organized in niche companies with competence in digitalization, software development, electrification, solutions for embedded systems, data analytics, and product information among others.
