Sigma supports National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference in Hungary

In late March Óbuda University (Hungary) hosted the Engineering Session of the XXXII National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference (OTDK in Hungarian). The biannual OTDK conference is one of the most important scientific events for students all over Hungary. Sigma Technology was among the partners of the event.

This year almost 600 candidates from 24 higher education institutions registered to report the result of their research in the Engineering Session at OTDK conference. The papers were selected in 55 sub-sessions. Students made 15 minute presentations highlighting the most remarkable outcome of their work. Papers were acknowledged by gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as some special awards offered by the sponsors.

“The National Scientific Students’ Associations Conference is a great opportunity for the most talented and enthusiastic students. Here they get a chance to present their research projects and gain valuable experience. Students of Óbuda University won 43 awards, namely 5 gold, 8 silver, 10 bronze medals and 19 special awards,” says Dr. Imre Felde, Vice Dean of John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics at Óbuda University. “We are pleased with Sigma Technology’s contribution to the competition and are thankful for their support of young scientists and future entrepreneurs.”

“We were glad to become a part of the Engineering section of OTDK contest. We believe that it is a great starting point for students to compete in the scientific domain, train in public speaking and, hence get closer to the future employment. Our cooperation with Óbuda University also covers a joint Info-communication techniques course for third-year students, and we plan to develop our partnership within research and consultancy work further on,” shares Dóra Cseresnyés, Unit Manager at Sigma Technology Hungary.
