Sigma Technology signs cooperation agreement with Óbuda University

Sigma Technology Hungary becomes a partner of Óbuda University — the second biggest technical university in Budapest. The framework agreement was officially signed on September 10 by professor Dr. Réger Mihály, Óbuda vice-rector, and György Nagy, country manager at Sigma Technology Hungary.

Óbuda University is one of the major players on Hungary higher education market. It provides high-quality training and education in the fields of engineering, information technology, economics, technical and teacher training. Óbuda University has been awarded the prestigious Quality Award in Higher Education, for recognizing the continuous quality improvements in the institution.

From now on the University partners with Sigma Technology Hungary. The signed agreement foresees joint work of the company and John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics in a number of areas, including joint courses in the University undergraduate program in the field of technical communication, consultancy in training programs, cooperative trainings related to the University’s engineering programs, joint activities in students’ development and research work. Dóra Cseresnyés, unit manager at Sigma Technology Hungary, will be responsible for the cooperation.

György Nagy shares his thoughts:

“The Óbuda University extensively cooperates with top international companies continuously updating the offered knowledge level, which is why the agreement with Óbuda University was so significant for us. Within the framework of this agreement, Sigma Technology Hungary will be responsible for creating and providing a new course of lectures on Infocommunication Techniques for 3rd year students. Our first joint course starts this semester, and we are very excited to greet IT students of the University and share our hands-on experience with them.”

Niklas Börjesson, COO at Sigma Technology Group adds:

We have been preparing for this event for a long time, and we are proud to add a new profile to our educational portfolio. Óbuda University is well-known for its outstanding graduates; among them is József Galamb, an engineer who devised many parts of the famous Ford Model T. We do believe we will meet loads of no less talented students there and are looking forward to welcoming them at Sigma Technology team in the future.
