Press release -
Sigma Technology establishes a presence in Umeå and starts a company in Northern Sweden
Sigma Technology North Solutions, the latest addition to Sigma Technology Group, starts operations in Umeå, one of the biggest cities in the North of Sweden. Vlora Ramadani will head the company and focus on providing top-class expertise and solutions in digitalization and IT.
Umeå is one of Sweden’s Innovative cities, together with Gothenburg, Kiruna, Lund, Borås, and Stockholm. This region is known for its IT and manufacturing industries and the university, the flagship institution of higher education in northern Sweden. Besides, Umeå was Sweden’s first city to access 5G. Innovative and creative spirit attracted several large players such as Volvo Trucks, Ålö AB, Komatsu Forest, and SCA to establish their presence and grow here. That’s why it has become an obvious location for Sigma Technology Group to continue its expansion journey in Sweden.
“During the past year, we have seen a spike in demand for digitalization and electrification services among the clients. To meet the need, we have started ten companies in Sweden’s major tech hubs to deliver digitalization solutions for our clients and create 700 new job opportunities within the next three years. Umeå’s growth history, university heritage, and strategic geographic location with well-established communications make it a perfect spot to root in,” says Carl Vikingsson, CEO at Sigma Technology Group.
Vlora Ramadani has previous experience working in top management positions in the construction and IT industries, with the most recent role as a partner and CMO at Kvix, a streaming platform for health training and activity.
“I am looking forward to an exciting journey that Sigma Technology North Solutions embarks on. Sigma's mission of Expect a Better Tomorrow strongly resonates with my values. I will build a team of great individuals passionate about software development, building the company from the start, and delivering value in the assignments. Our goal is to create a workplace where people are in focus, feel safe and respected,” says Vlora.
Sigma Technology North Solutions have an office at Rådhusesplanaden 2C in Umeå. The team is looking for software developers with experience in Java or .NET.
“My goal is to hire 15 developers by the end of 2023. In three years, we will become a team of 50 experts in Umeå and Northern Sweden,” adds Vlora.
