Sigma is to climb K2

Press release -

Sigma is to climb K2

Fredrik Sträng is a Swedish adventurer with an extensive CV, whose next campaign to K2 is planned for June-July. The expedition should become a real adventure to follow globally by thousands of Fredrik`s followers as he is going to run a real time blog of the ascent. During two months he is going to report his progress and share his thoughts about risk-taking, decision-making, health, nutrition, mental training, happiness, culture, life, death, meditation, technology, relationships, what makes a strong team and what he thinks will bring peace to the world.

The expedition to K2, supported by Sigma Technology as a Title Sponsor, reveals company`s dedication to principles of healthy living and sports promotion, which is among the top activities within the frameworks of company`s corporate social responsibility.

Carl Vikingsson, CEO at Sigma Technology Group, says:

“This expedition and Fredrik himself are very close to us and to the philosophy that our company follows. We are convinced that talented people always reach the top, we support dedication and motivation that help to conquer peaks, would it be peaks of mountains, or career and business heights. Just as Fredrik, our big international team is focused on reaching goals and making dreams come true. I’m happy that he has decided to choose Sigma Technology as a Gold Partner. I believe we are a perfect match.”

Fredrik Sträng shares:

“Back in 2008 I already tried to climb K2, that expedition was unsuccessful and ended with a big catastrophe after avalanche triggering. Still, I’m not giving up my dream. I’m going back to K2. I did not come this far just to come this far. And when I’m coming back, hopefully after a successful climb to the summit, I am going to action out my ice axes in favour for Red Cross precious work in Pakistan. Because helping others is the true meaning of life. I’m especially thankful for my sponsors making my dream come true.”

Sigma Technology and sustainable future

Sigma Technology regularly takes part in activities that contribute to a sustainable future, by supporting innovation and development through education. We do that in close cooperation with universities by driving innovation, through exchange programs, and on a voluntary basis as teachers. We open up doors for students who want to learn about entrepreneurship or a specific industry, or simply want to acquire a competitive skill in a certain area.

We also actively support the younger generations by sponsoring three schools in South Africa as part of the Star for Life program. Star for Life was created in 2005 by Christin and Dan Olofsson, owner of the Sigma Group, and since then has touched the lives of 300 000 young people.
