Sigma Group Wins the Swedish Championship in Employer Branding

Last week, the winners of Sweden's most significant employer branding competition – the Magnet Awards – were announced at a ceremony in Stockholm. Sigma Group won Gold in the Independent Video category with its entry Experts of Tomorrow, produced in collaboration with the communications agency NocNoc.

Founded in Norway in 2014, the Magnet Awards have had a Swedish equivalent since 2016. The competition is run as a non-profit initiative and is the largest of its kind in the Nordic region. Its purpose is to highlight and celebrate the most innovative and effective communication solutions in employer branding. The jury selects winners in seven different categories each year.

Sigma Group's winning entry is part of the company’s long-term initiative to promote future tech talent. The campaign was produced together with the communications agency NocNoc.

"Interest in technology among young people is declining sharply, while the shortage of engineers and technical expertise is already a reality. If we don't act now, we risk an even greater gap in the future. With Experts of Tomorrow, we wanted to take responsibility and create a campaign that not only highlights the problem but also inspires young people to choose a technical education," says Magnus Liljeqvist, Marketing Director at Sigma Industry West.

The Jury’s Motivation for the Gold Award in the Independent Video Category:

"A film that goes beyond expectations and touches deeply. With a strong narrative, beautiful cinematography, and impressive props, it inspires a technical future – without showing a single employee. This entry, which the jury wants to elevate to the very top, dares to be playful, human, and visionary at the same time. What we see is a film that not only informs but truly engages. Congratulations, Sigma Group."

The Experts of Tomorrow film has been showcased both digitally and in OOH formats across Sweden – including at Filmstaden cinemas – throughout 2024. The film marked the launch of a broader engagement: Sigma Innovation Race, a nationwide competition for middle school students that concluded last week, attracting over 150 entries from students in grades 5–6.

"With Experts of Tomorrow and Innovation Race, we aim to inspire more children to choose a future within STEM. We continue this work through collaborations with universities and students by offering internships. We also run initiatives such as Femmegineering to encourage more girls to pursue a technical education and, ultimately, a technical career. By fostering young people's curiosity and creativity, we contribute to future solutions – inclusive, representative, and relevant to society as a whole," says Nataly Lamkén, Communications Director at Sigma Technology Group.

This is Sigma Group's second Gold win at the Magnet Awards. The first was awarded for the Sigma Truck initiative in the competition's inaugural edition in 2017.
