Sigma acquires Aker Solutions ́ unit in Gothenburg

Sigma Industry West takes over Aker Solutions’ unit in Gothenburg with 90 employees and becomes a leading provider of underwater technology engineering services. The acquisition is part of the strategy to expand the business to include energy and marine constructions.

The acquired unit mainly delivers complete product design and project engineering for the oil and gas industry. It also works in green marine-based energy, an area that Sigma expects to grow within. The business has expertise in various facets of subsea technology.

The expertise is mainly applied within oil and gas production from the seabed but also in energy recovery such as offshore wind and wave power. Sigma and Aker Solutions have signed a framework agreement to ensure continued delivery of key competences in the future. This makes Aker Solutions one of Sigma Industry West's biggest customers.
