ICE Totally Gaming Gives a Glimpse into the Trends in 2018
The ICE Totally Gaming event is the place to be for those interested in game development. Every year ICE Totally Gaming becomes a meeting place for over 30,000 visitors and 8,500 game operators. The most discussed topics this year are Live Casino and regulations on the gaming market.
Last week, we spent three intensive days at ExCel London. We have been developing games for the last decade and, of course, we couldn’t miss the world’s biggest game exhibition. The Sigma team was presented by Daniel Björkman, Vice President at Sigma Technology Solutions, Niklas Malmros, President at Sigma Technology Solutions, and Sergey Logvinenko, Account Manager at Sigma Software.
Proud to Meet Our Clients and Partners
Daniel: It is really exciting to see our customers’ success at ICE Totally Gaming. Our most recent customer Play’n Go has doubled the size of their stand this year. Their team has also won a prize (IGA Award) for their gaming solutions. Play’n Go featured some of the games that we helped them to develop on the real slot machines during the conference.
Niklas: There were a lot of new companies that we haven’t seen at ICE Totally Gaming previous years. There is no doubt that gaming is a fast-growing area.
ICE 2018's Trends: Live Casino and regulated markets
Daniel: One important trend is Live Casino, casino games with live video from real tables with real croupiers. A Swedish company NetEnt launched a new solution for Live Casino at the ICE conference. Another Swedish company, Evolution Gaming, is already in the forefront in this area.
Niklas: Another important trend is regulation. More and more countries are adopting laws to regulate the gambling market, which means that a limited number of gaming companies are allowed to make their games available on the market. You could also see that the most important hub for gaming in Europe is Malta, but Sweden has a lot of interesting gaming companies as well.
Our game development agenda this year
Daniel: We deliver our services to IGT, one of the biggest gaming companies, supporting them with solutions for lottery, gaming, interactive, and betting business segments. Together with Sigma Software, we develop bingo, casino, flash games, mobile games, poker, a management system and a gaming platform.
Sergey: Play’n Go is a leading developer of smart systems and games for mobile devices, gaming terminals, and websites. During this exhibition, they presented several games that were developed by our team, including Reactoonz, Gold King, and Sweet 27. The games were done for online casino and land-based market.
Niklas: We have also made new connections at the ICE exhibition that we hope would become new opportunities during this year.
