Press release -

Experts of tomorrow, the solution to the challenges of the future

The shortage of technical expertise and trained engineers threatens Sweden’s position as a leading nation for innovation and engineering. Through the initiative Experts of Tomorrow, Sigma Group is taking responsibility for reversing this trend by inspiring more young people to pursue technical education and by placing the issue high on the agenda for industry and decision-makers.

Sigma Group is convinced that smarter, more efficient and cleaner technology is the key to todays and tomorrow’s challenges. At the same time, there is a shortage of technical expertise and engineers. If nothing is done about this, we risk serious consequences for both the pace of innovation and economic growth.

“Innovation and engineering are fundamental to Sweden’s position as a leading technology nation. But without enough people with the right skills, technical development will grind to a halt. That is why we want to take responsibility, both by inspiring the next generation and by reminding the industry and policymakers of the importance of long-term investment in technical skills,” says Johan Glennmo, Chairman of the Board at Danir, owner of Sigma Group.

With the Experts of Tomorrow campaign, Sigma aims to ensure that the issue of technical skills supply remains constantly in focus, while reminding both industry and decision-makers of their shared responsibility for future competence.

Last year’s podcast, “Jakten på teknikintresset”, which explored the reasons why fewer young people are choosing a technical education, is now being followed up with a commercial. The film puts the spotlight on the experts of tomorrow and celebrates the innate curiosity that children have for technology. A curiosity that Sigma Group wants young people to retain when choosing their future education.

Every day, Sigma Group’s employees work on assignments aimed at making organisations, societies and solutions more efficient, better and more future-proof. Their employees see it as a natural part of their mission to contribute to a strong and competitive technology sector. This is why the company’s commitment to the Experts of Tomorrw is so deeply rooted within the organisation.

“We see every day what engineering can achieve, and we know that we need more people who are ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. For us, this is not just about our own business, but about safeguarding Sweden’s future innovative capacity,” concludes Fredrik Hedlund, CEO of Danir, owner of Sigma Group.
