The Embassy of Sweden Hosts the Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum in Kyiv

The Sweden-Ukraine Business Forum, organized by the Swedish Trade and Invest Council Business Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv, is attended by high-level Swedish representatives from the government and industry as well as by top officials from Ukraine. This year the forum is expected to gather Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk, Former Minister of Finance of Slovakia Ivan Miklos, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Yaresko, Head of the State Agency on E-governance of Ukraine Olexandr Ryzhenko, Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Dmytro Shymkiv and others.

The event will also welcome Dan Olofsson — a Swedish entrepreneur, business leader and philanthropist, founder of Sigma. He will take a welcoming word at the Forum opening ceremony on June 15th.

The Forum is designed to facilitate business opportunities for Swedish companies and highlight the prospects of economic and social development of Ukraine.

As an event partner, Sigma Software will take part in panel debates, and will conduct the workshop to clearly define the difference between IT outsourcing and IT consulting and examine which term is applicable to Ukrainian IT export industry today.

“Being a part of the Scandinavian group of companies Sigma, we always strive to develop cooperation between Sweden and Ukraine. We believe the Ukrainian IT industry is a very promising sector,” Valery Krasovsky, CEO at Sigma Software, says. “Our company closely works with known Swedish brands like Volvo, Formpipe, Fortum, SAS and others. We are the only company in Ukraine that partners with over ten large Swedish companies. And we are confident, that other Swedish businesses will benefit from the Swedish-Ukrainian cooperation as well.”

“Ukraine is an attractive destination for many Swedish companies willing to expand businesses. The IT industry is among the most promising sectors, due to strong scientific legacy and growing pool of qualified and motivated human resources. In less than 20 years, Ukraine has managed to build a strong IT consulting sector able to compete on the world market. The companies working in the area have accumulated cross-industry expertise and experience with market-leading customers in the creation of sophisticated and innovative software products and robust industry systems. What is important now is not to miss the opportunities, which the new times bring,” Vladimir Beck, Board Member at Sigma Software, adds.
