Sigma Technology presents their vision of the future product information

For many years Sigma Technology has been doing research within product information. The research covered many different areas and now Sigma Technology has summarized the latest thoughts in a vision movie.

Sigma Technology has an extensive experience in delivering product information services to the clients in Europe, China and the US. Being the expert in the field, the company understands how important it is to secure that the end-user gets the right information and to ensure high Information Quality on every stage of the product development.

The message of the video created was to show how important the high-quality information is and what are Sigma Technology’s visions of the further information development and enhancement. It includes the importance of knowing the customer-perceived quality before delivery, using collaborative development of information, making the information accessible when the user needs it, and taking control of the aftermarket and support.

“Our vision is to automate the assessment and the assurance of technical documentation. For an end-user this means the information becomes easier to find, easier to understand and, eventually, easier to use. For the owner of technical documentation we would like to turn the production of such manuals from the cost into a profit center. Think of a service center that can have reduced incoming costs due to higher information quality,” says Welf Löwe, Professor in Computer Science, Linnaeus University.

“In the end it's about turning information development, both directly and indirectly, from a "cost center" to a "profit center” by using the full potential of the information and by utilizing new possibilities of the connected society. It’s also about taking control of your aftermarket while increasing the value of the product,” says Carl Vikingsson, CEO at Sigma Technology Group.

The vision movie gives a first glance on what can be done with product information in the future. We will continue reporting further about the development and results of Sigma Technology researches within product information.
